Weddings, Colors and Candles

Perhaps it’s just us, but it sure seems that everyone is talking about weddings these last few weeks!  We attended the Bridal Expo in Phoenix on Saturday and saw many of our preferred customers there – I won’t begin to list them because I’m sure to leave someone out.  It was, as my friend from England says, a crush.  Shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of brides, moms, wedding attendants, and quite honestly more grooms than I had imagined.

The Bridal Expo gives us ideas on what colors the brides (and planners or venues) may be asking for in the upcoming months, and how centerpieces are being designed.  Of course we came away with much more, including overhearing multiple choruses of “I love sparkly stuff!”  We were encouraged when we heard brides and their parties talking about green weddings; some wedding vendors listed their ecological practices, which intrigues us as we are committed to conducting business in a way that supports the environment.

We saw booths with wedding favors and immediately thought they need our cupcakes!

Everything was put together beautifully, we saw incredible dresses, gorgeous centerpieces with flowers and candles (and are pleased to report that many of them were Armadilla Wax Works candles), spectacular cakes, stunning photographs and so much more!  It was a bit overwhelming, but it was obvious that the brides and their parties were enjoying the expo, gathering information to help plan their weddings, and setting appointments with vendors that they were ready to work with.

Our new color chart was already in the works, and most of our decisions were reinforced.  (I won't spoil the surprise, check back for the new color chart next week.)  We can’t help but feel charmed - and hopeful - in light of so many lovely brides!
